Position: Lead Security Guard with Security Clearance
Duties
* Responsible for safeguarding government personnel, property, and technologies against such threats as: unlawful entry, sabotage, espionage, theft, accidental or willful damage, and destruction.
* Grant access to those individuals that have met screening requirements and demonstrate a need to access the installation.
* Provide significant support to the overall installation Antiterrorism/ Force Protection (AT/FP) capability.
* Makes daily assignments to ensure that guard coverage is provided to assigned patrol areas.
* Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and provide on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures.
* Checks on work in progress to ensure supervisor's instructions on work sequence procedures are met.
* Responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments.
* Operates and performs research queries on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) workstation terminal(s) in accordance with (IAW) federal and state laws.
* First responder to emergency recall and provide immediate response to active shooter and other situations such as terrorist threat, national emergencies and natural disasters.
* Secures installation from all entry on own initiative or upon notification of alarm or emergency.
* Make immediate decisions regarding use of deadly force, operates Active Vehicle Barriers (AVB) when required, and alerts appropriate officials of apparent security violations.
* Detains violators, identifies witnesses and renders first aid to the injured commensurate with training and certifications.
* Ensures incident scenes are preserved for law enforcement investigators and provides written reports of findings based on criminal incidents.
* May be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and bato.
* Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
* The duties and training required require for the employee to carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield and employ non-lethal am munitions if necessary. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
* Required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT). Requirements as outline is Army Regulation 190-56. Failure to meet the standards after the second attempt within a ninety-day period will result in separation.
* This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
* Must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals.
* Employee of this job are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct; and when being considered for employment and periodically thereafter, they must be assessed under the Individual Reliability Program.
* Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
* Must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons. All weapons training and qualifications will be conducted IAW AR 190-56.
* Must successfully complete security guard training.
* Must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and must know first aid. May act as a first responder in a medical emergency. Qualifications Who May Apply:
