Fire Protection And Prevention

Oversight of operations in support of Fire Protection and Prevention programs; emergency dispatch services; emergency response to structural fires; fire prevention; emergency response Haz Mat, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and rescue operations.

Interpreting and implementing command, DA and DOD policies and regulations

Establishing day-to-day and long-range work plans

Establishing standards of performance and discussing standards and total performance with subordinates

Determining training needs and ensuring required level of licensing/certifications are met

Directing firefighting activities of the duty shift to include implementing procedures, techniques and methods of operation for rapid and effective response to fire calls.

Participating in fire investigations to determine causes and corrective action necessary to prevent recurrences, preparing documentation and preserving evidence for use by formal investigative boards and judicial proceedings.

Scheduling fire prevention inspections of buildings, structures, and utilities, and testing of fire protection systems; reviewing reports of findings and recommending corrective action.
