Overnight Awake Residential Support Staff
Alpine Academy consists of two therapeutic boarding schools for teenage girls and boys ages 12-18, both located in Tooele Valley. These youth live away from home in a family-style residential treatment center setting in which they receive behavioral treatment in a home setting, receive personal and family therapy, and even attend school on campus. The Overnight Awake Residential Support Staff is responsible for the safety and security of the youth on campus during night time hours and should be committed to our mission which is to "heal and elevate lives through proven family solutions."
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Overnight Support staff will remain awake for entire shift (approximately 10:30pm-6:30am, different shift hours may be an option within that time period)
- Actively monitor cameras, do home-checks, and monitor campus at different intervals throughout the night
- Occasional, direct monitoring of students who are a safety risk
- Responding to student needs throughout the night, such as using the restroom, or receiving medication, or doing a quick check-in
- Participate in thorough documentation of shift, incidents, and other relevant information
- Communicate with supervisor and other Overnight Support staff
- Participate in assigned tasks such as clerical duties and occasional projects
- Additional duties may be assigned
- May be asked to attend occasional day time trainings/activities
- Receive and maintain training in restraint training called Handle With Care and CPR/First Aid (provided by Alpine Academy)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be 21 years or older and be able to pass a background check
- Ability to stay awake during the night
- Ability to connect with the youth and other staff as well as present in a friendly and non-threatening manner
- Mission driven and genuinely cares to help youth and understands the connection between the job and their progress
- Must have, or obtain within 2 weeks of employment, a valid Utah drivers license
Job Type: Full-time
