Job Description
The Lead Accounting Specialist serves as the primary accounting professional for the district, responsible for maintaining the general ledger, supporting budget development and monitoring, assisting with grant accounting, and coordinating monthly and annual financial close processes. This position exercises independent judgment in reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and improving accounting procedures, with work reviewed by the Executive Director of Business Services.
In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role provides guidance and training to building-level secretaries and serves as a key resource for internal and external financial stakeholders.
Salary: $17.69-$22.69/hour (wage determined by years of relevant experience)
Terms of Employment: 8 hours/day, 12 months/year
* available to employees hired to work 5.75+ hours/day, 5 days/week
