Job Description

The Controller will oversee and manage all accounting and financial activities within our client's organization. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and hold a college degree in accounting or a related field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management:
    Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for construction projects. Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Construction Accounting:
    Manage job cost accounting, including tracking and analyzing project costs, preparing and reviewing job cost reports, and ensuring proper allocation of expenses.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding financial performance and project profitability.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    Monitor and manage cash flow, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Ensure timely collection of receivables and payment of obligations.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial regulations.
  • Financial Systems Management:
    Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software. Ensure accurate and efficient financial processes and reporting mechanisms.
  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in construction. Proven experience in managing financial operations independently.
