Job Description
The Controller will oversee and manage all accounting and financial activities within our client's organization. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and hold a college degree in accounting or a related field.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management:
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for construction projects. Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. - Construction Accounting:
Manage job cost accounting, including tracking and analyzing project costs, preparing and reviewing job cost reports, and ensuring proper allocation of expenses. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding financial performance and project profitability. - Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Ensure timely collection of receivables and payment of obligations. - Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial regulations. - Financial Systems Management:
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software. Ensure accurate and efficient financial processes and reporting mechanisms. - Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus. - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in construction. Proven experience in managing financial operations independently.

- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
