This unclassified
, full-time position is located in the Accounting Section of the Office of the Secretary in Topeka and is directly supervised by the Accounting Director. This position is accepting applications until September 10, 2026.
- Monitors, audits, and approves procurement card transactions by verifying coding required by the State of Kansas and the Agency.
- Ensures corresponding receipts/invoices & required authorizations with appropriate approval have been scanned into the Agency document management system.
- Serves as point of contact and resource for procurement card reconcile rs regarding procurement card transactions.
- Monitors, audits, and approves all travel reimbursements for the Agency.
- Verifies and corrects account codes required by the State and Agency and ensures transactions follow State laws and regulations.
- Reviews information for accuracy and verifies with documentation scanned into the Agency document management system.
- Verifies appropriate documentation for out-of-state travel has been approved.
- Reviews specified fund coding to ensure the appropriate usage.
- Serves as point of contact for employees’ questions regarding travel issues.
- Other duties and assignments as needed, including acting as a backup to other team members & their duties.
- Salary
:
Beginning hourly wage $23.75/hr - Health and Insurance

Holidays, sick leave, vacation leave, and parental leave. - High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Accounting or Finance degree is preferred.
- One year of experience in professional accounting/auditing work.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction.
- Ability to interpret, apply and explain operational policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required.
