QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED
* Ability to work extensively with computer data entry and word processing
* Ability to relate well with staff, parents, and community members
* Ability to operate office machines
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Skilled in bookkeeping tasks
* Knowledge of student database system
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs clerical duties in the preparation of truancy affidavits as required by K.S.A. 72-1111 and 72-1113 and USD 501 Regulation 8075.
* Performs office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive and smooth running environment; including telephone, typing/word processing, maintaining filing system, preparing mailings.
* Will work with confidential records, schedule appointments with parents and staff, maintain calendar, set-up meetings, collect research information, and perform varied and related office duties.
SPECIFIC DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
* Identifying students with attendance issues and intervene with poor attendance behavior prior to violation of Kansas Laws and school district regulations.
* Work with parents of students who exhibit poor attendance to identify a method to help the student remain in school.
* Work with school administrators, teachers and staff to correct poor attendance and truancy issues.
* Prepare truancy affidavits and keep accurate up-to-date data in student database.
* Frequent student home visits with campus police or other school staff.
* Maintain, track, and distribute metro bus passes.
* Assist with student transport when necessary.
* Other duties as assigned
Terms of Empoyment:
9 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel
