Overview

This position is located in Topeka, KS and is supervised by the Federal Grant Manager. This position is accepting applications until July 6, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the planning, preparation, and submission of grant proposals and reports to federal granting agencies
  • Compiles and submits complete and accurate grant application packages in coordination with division staff and grant coordinators
  • Provides technical assistance in drafting and editing grant application narratives
  • Manages assigned grants and adapts to evolving federal programs, agency priorities, and staffing needs
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and KDWP regulations and recommends corrective actions when necessary
  • Monitors grant compliance for real property, equipment, and activities, including travel to offices and project sites
  • Reviews and reconciles federal expenditures to ensure costs are allowable and allocable
  • Assists in developing and delivering grant management and compliance training for staff
  • Monitors sub-recipients to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements
  • Coordinates and reviews sub-awards, contracts, MOUs, audits, and related grant documentation
  • Maintains grant management procedures, templates, and knowledge of funding regulations and requirements
  • Assists with federal and state grant reporting requirements
  • Supports activities related to indirect cost rate proposals and annual license certifications
  • Assists with internal and external audits by compiling documentation and coordinating with staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience examining financial records and controls for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
