Overview
This position is located in Topeka, KS and is supervised by the Federal Grant Manager. This position is accepting applications until July 6, 2026.
Responsibilities- Coordinates the planning, preparation, and submission of grant proposals and reports to federal granting agencies
- Compiles and submits complete and accurate grant application packages in coordination with division staff and grant coordinators
- Provides technical assistance in drafting and editing grant application narratives
- Manages assigned grants and adapts to evolving federal programs, agency priorities, and staffing needs
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and KDWP regulations and recommends corrective actions when necessary
- Monitors grant compliance for real property, equipment, and activities, including travel to offices and project sites
- Reviews and reconciles federal expenditures to ensure costs are allowable and allocable
- Assists in developing and delivering grant management and compliance training for staff
- Monitors sub-recipients to ensure compliance with federal grant requirements
- Coordinates and reviews sub-awards, contracts, MOUs, audits, and related grant documentation
- Maintains grant management procedures, templates, and knowledge of funding regulations and requirements
- Assists with federal and state grant reporting requirements
- Supports activities related to indirect cost rate proposals and annual license certifications
- Assists with internal and external audits by compiling documentation and coordinating with staff
- Performs other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience examining financial records and controls for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Personal mobile device capable of supporting multi-factor authentication applications
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
