Title:
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Tutor
Reports to:
AVID Site Coordinator; AVID Elective Teacher
Position
Purpose:
To facilitate AVID Tutorial Process and assist AVID Elective teachers.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma
* Current college students preferred
* Must be reliable, punctual and professional
* Able to commit to 2-15 hours per week
* Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities:
* AVID tutors' primary role is to facilitate the AVID tutorial process
* AVID tutors work closely with AVID Elective Teachers in implementation and scoring of tutorial materials and student notebooks
* AVID tutors are required to attend 16 hours of AVID Tutor Training
* AVID tutors are occasionally asked to provide support on field trips and assist with student and their families
