PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for implementation of a broad range of programs for youth between the ages of 13-18 years old and that prepares youth for success and creates a club environment that facilitates achievement of

6) Community & Civic Involvement

KEY ROLES:

Leadership provides programs, activities and services that incorporate the Key Elements of Youth Development: a Safe & Positive Environment, Fun, Supportive Relationships, Opportunities & Expectations & Recognition facilitates daily experiences consistent with Club learning objectives implements and evaluate programs, services and activities

Implementation of core programs that engage members to be the best they possibly can be Ensure safe use of the internet

Actively engages and addresses the needs of Club members

Encourages positive growth and development

Inspires improved sense of self and support to overcome barriers

Provides genuine and honest investment in each members present and future

Strives to make every minute a positive learning moment

Strives to make a difference in the lives of membership

Strategic Planning Implement and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.

Work in collaboration with the Teen Services Team to plan and implement a successful and meaningful summer experience based on Boys & Girls Clubs of America ( BGCA )Teen Activation Guide ( Winning with Teens; More Teens More Often)
Work in collaboration with the Teen Team to plan and implement successful and meaningful after school clubs that are based on BGCA Core Programs and that achieve Youth Development Outcomes Identify and secure needed supplies and materials for program activities and experiences in advance

Collaborate with Teen Team on activities offered and create effective and meaningful opportunities that engage, recruit and retain teen members

Develop strategies that maximize attendance of teen members

Resource Management Ensure supply of necessary supplies and materials are in stock, functional, accounted for and utilized effectively

Assist with proper use of equipment, supplies and materials.

Ensure compliance with Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka( BGCT) policies & procedures

Requisition program supply needs or equipment needs to Teen Services Director Partnership Development Cultivate and maintain rapport with parents and primary caregivers through effective communication exchange (written & verbal)
Provide immediate assistance to members in need Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with BGCT staff to assure effective and routine interaction with members

Work together to achieve program objectives and goals

Marketing & Public Relations Represent self as a positive, professional and responsive representative of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka Positive role model for teen members

During working hours, focus and full attention is on members.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Perform special assignments and assist with special projects as directed

Maintain daily contact with Teen team to discuss challenges, opportunities; provide and receive information as warranted & provide guidance and a consistent discipline system to members

Assist with routine clean up at the end of the day ( no trash on the floor, books and games neatly put away, chairs pushed in, and no materials or supplies on floor)
Establish and maintain Club program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members

Ensure that club equipment is maintained in good working condition

Transport members from school to Club when necessary while following club policy

Provide on-site school support in lieu of school departure and BGCT pick up schedule

Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance & discipline plan Utilize effective communication skills and professional standards of conflict resolution should a conflict arise

Ensure programs & activities respond to member needs and address gender & cultural diversity

Ensure productive & effective performance by team members and volunteers

Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

RELATIONSHIPS Internal:
Works to guide and develop teen members in a variety of social and skill areas through the provision of quality and effective programs and experiences as well as to work effectively as a team to achieve successful Youth Development Outcomes. Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain program objectives and standards, problem solve issues, and provide/receive information.

Works closely with Director of Teen Services to ensure BGCA Core programs and Youth Development Outcomes are the foundation and framework of educational supports, activities & experiences. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advice, guide and counsel
