Job Summary

The Teacher Apprentice role is designed for individuals pursuing a career in education who are actively enrolled in a teacher preparation program. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while working under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role supports the development of teaching skills, classroom management strategies, and professional growth in a structured and supportive environment.

Based on your education and experience, you can be placed as an academic support teacher apprentice or a teacher apprentice in a classroom (teacher of record).

Key Responsibilities

* Complete lesson planning, lead instruction, and manage classroom environment.

* Provide support to students individually or in small groups to enhance learning outcomes.

* Lead classroom activities under the guidance and supervision of the mentor teacher.

* Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions as required.

* Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student progress and classroom activities.

* Actively engage in reflective practices to improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.

* Adhere to school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

* Attend all required Teacher Apprentice Program training

Qualifications

* Education:

* Actively enroll in an accredited teacher preparation program.

* Must provide college or High school Transcript, Program of Studies and Degree Plan

* Progress Requirements:

* Demonstrate consistent progress in the teacher preparation program

* Must remain actively enrolled in good standing

* Submit transcripts each semester

* Provide Midterm grades by due date requested

* Skills and

Competencies:

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.

* Willingness to learn and implement new teaching methods.

* Organized, dependable, and committed to professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting

* Familiarity with classroom technologies and educational tools

Working Conditions

* Primarily based in a classroom environment.

* May require occasional after-school or weekend commitments for meetings or events.
