Position Overview
The Intramural Sports Supervisor oversees the entire atmosphere of the various Intramural Sports events offered throughout the semester. Responsibilities include implementing Intramural Sports policies independently and in collaboration with fellow supervisors and officials.
Responsibilities- Manage over 30 Intramural Sports activities and events.
- Creatively administer program policies and procedures at game sites and facilities.
- Serve as the first point of contact for over 700 teams and approximately 5,000 annual participants.
- Respond to injuries, rule interpretations, disciplinary matters, and facility concerns with timely proficiency.
- Represent Intramural Sports to the campus community in an exemplary manner.
- Assist participants, spectators, and fans when needed in a professional and courteous fashion.
- Document staff work hours to support budget preparation.
- Attend and participate in all Intramural Sports staff meetings.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of policies and procedures during the annual program review.
- Complete all forms and documents accurately and thoroughly.
- Analyze and provide feedback to improve participant and official experiences.
- Nominate players and officials for weekly awards.
- Train, evaluate, and assess approximately 50 student officials.
- Provide evaluations and support for team sport officials.
- Officially oversee all six team sports as needed.
- Attend and participate in all official training sessions.
- Set up courts and fields as required.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience and/or background in team sports or related activities.
- Experience requiring the implementation of company policies, as demonstrated in application materials.
- Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.
- Current NFHS Concussion in Sports certification or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.
- Officiating experience.
- Effective communication and engagement skills with participants and staff.
- Strong conflict mediation skills evidenced by work history.
- A willingness to learn and have fun.
During the semester, student hourly employees must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods, they must either have completed at least 6 hours in the prior spring semester, be pre‑enrolled in the upcoming fall semester for at least 6 hours, be enrolled in a summer session, or be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
Student hourly appointments may include undergraduate or graduate students.
- Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by leadership and HR.
- This is a non‑exempt hourly position. A student employee cannot hold a non‑exempt hourly position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position concurrently.
Starting rate of $11.55 per hour with opportunities for advancement.
