The University of Kansas seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in Algebra and/or Combinatorics in the Department of Mathematics, beginning August 18, 2026
. This is a non‑tenure‑track, limited‑term, full‑time appointment for three consecutive academic years, ending May 16, 2029
. The appointment is suitable for a Ph.D., ABD, or terminal degree holder who is eligible to work in the United States.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (up to six credit hours per semester).
- Prepare lessons, assignments, and assessments.
- Maintain at least three office hours per week across two or more days.
- Adhere to departmental, college, and university policies.
- Conduct research in algebra and/or combinatorics, leading to publication and a sustained active research program.
- Engage in departmental and professional service, including participation in professional activities such as panels, workshops, and journal reviews.
- Ph.D. or ABD in Mathematics by August 18, 2026.
- Research expertise in algebra and/or combinatorics.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
- Demonstrated commitment to research excellence.
