After-School Program Coach

The One Heart Project Coach serves as the primary relational anchor for a small cohort of students within Campus Connections’ after-school expansion model. Coaches walk consistently with the same group of 5–8 students across the semester and ideally across multiple years, building trust, stability, and a foundation for long-term growth. They travel with their group across all programming spaces, ensuring each student remains seen, supported, and emotionally grounded.

This role provides continuity across partner-led experiences and helps translate those experiences into meaningful personal growth. This is a contract position, 8-10 hours/week.

• Build and maintain consistent, trust-based relationships with a small cohort of students.
• Serve as a stable adult presence throughout program experiences.
• Facilitate check-ins, conversations, and reflection opportunities.
• Lead a consistent group of 5–8 students through program rotations and activities.
• Ensure group cohesion, participation, and emotional safety.
• Model emotional awareness, self-regulation, and healthy expression.
• Support students in navigating conflict, stress, and behavioral challenges.
• Facilitate One Heart Project programming with assigned youth.
• Maintain consistency in expectations, behavior, and culture across environments.
• Observe and communicate student needs, concerns, and progress.
• Collaborate with school staff, SENT staff, and community partners.
• Participate in meetings, debriefs, trainings, and planning activities.

• Strong relational and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively engage and coach youth.
• Ability to lead small groups and manage group dynamics.
• Knowledge of pro-social practices.
• Ability to remain calm and grounded during challenging situations.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and student needs
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multi-partner environment
• Proficiency with basic computer and communication platforms

• Some college coursework in social work, criminal justice, education or related field preferred
• 1-2 years previous experience working with adolescent population
• Experience in coaching, education, youth development, social services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with at-risk youth preferred

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• Ability to supervise youth while maintaining a safe environment
• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate effectively
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program facilities
• Ability to successfully complete all required background screenings
