College Intern – Health Exploration Program
The College Intern is responsible for providing essential curriculum and operational support for the program. They will maintain a learning-conducive educational environment while assisting with general operational duties and activities.
Job Responsibilities- Planning, preparing, and implementing curriculum related to social emotional learning through teambuilders and self-care sessions.
- Maintain an organized and fun classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assist students in the development of research projects: grammar, connection to the curriculum, inter group communication, other.
- Lead teambuilding activities to begin the day.
- Assist with operational efforts and work with teachers as needed.
- Prepare supplies and equipment during the day, communicating with the instructors and staff as needed.
- Deliver any module, classroom, test prep, and general supplies/equipment as needed from the storage closet at the start, during, and at the end of the day.
- Take pictures and media related content of programming as needed by the team.
- Recognize and work through conflicts, invite discussion on differences, and arrange for a third party to assist, if necessary.
- Ensure lab safety guidelines are adhered to in the classroom.

Required QualificationsEducation:
Current student pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or health focused major.
- One (1) year experience (ex: work, volunteer, shadowing, internship, other).
- Experience working with various populations.
- Two (2) years of experience (ex: work, volunteer, shadowing, internship, other).
- Professional interest in healthcare.
- Experience working with youth, school, or community programs.
- Communication.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Organization and time management.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
Pay Range: $21.63 – $29.18
Minimum: $21.63
Midpoint: $25.43
Maximum: $29.18
