Challenging, High-Visibility Projects
Take ownership of multi-year capital projects and complex system upgrades that stretch your technical skills and expand your influence.
Collaborative, Engineer-Led Culture
Partner with experts across operations, planning, construction, and design in an environment that respects strong engineering judgment.
Career Growth Without Ceiling
Deepen your expertise in relaying, SCADA, and substation design while stepping into mentorship and technical leadership opportunities as you grow.
Strong Work-Life Balance + Midwest Quality of Life
Enjoy a supportive environment that values sustainability-not just for the grid, but for your career and personal life.
What You'll Do
* Design protection and control systems for substations, transmission lines, and generation facilities
* Develop relay schemes, metering configurations, and SCADA system designs
* Specify substation equipment based on system needs and operating conditions
* Analyze system performance data to identify improvements and support planning efforts
* Develop project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for capital projects
* Support construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities in the field
* Review and approve engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
* Mentor designers and technicians while ensuring design quality and compliance
What You Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
* Experience in a utility or closely related environment (substation, transmission, or generation)
* Strong knowledge of protection schemes, relaying, and control systems
* Hands-on experience with substation P&C design and relay logic
* Ability to read and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and standard engineering design tools
