Position OverviewAs an Operations Technology Leader your roles and responsibilities will include:
The Operations Technology (OT) Leader will lead the digital transformation of the manufacturing site by connecting industrial automation, plant-floor systems, data, and secure network infrastructure. This person will serve as the site's primary technical expert for OT systems, automation, controls, manufacturing systems, and IT/OT integration. The role involves leading technology projects, improving plant performance, maintaining OT infrastructure, and partnering with plant engineering, operations, IT, and global manufacturing technology teams.
- Lead manufacturing technology projects involving:
Plant-floor systems, PLC controls, devices and instrumentation, manufacturing networks, automation systems. - Establish and maintain global manufacturing technology standards.
- Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs.
- Develop and modify HMI screens.
- Work with Wonderware / Archestra / InTouch / MES systems.
- Perform data acquisition, analytics, and manufacturing system integration.
- Manage and troubleshoot OT network infrastructure.
- Support industrial cybersecurity and secure plant-floor control systems.
- Supervise OT resources and manage internal/external technical resources.
- Partner with plant leadership, Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Automation, and IT teams.
- Participate in plant meetings and communicate project progress.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvement, cost reduction, reliability improvement.
- Use Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) tools and Operational Excellence metrics to improve plant performance.
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Operations Technology Leader who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Operations Technology Leader would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience involving plant-floor systems, integration, and automation controls.
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Wonderware / Archestra / MES / InTouch, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience leading people, technical resources, contractors, or vendors.
- CPG or pet food manufacturing experience.
- Advanced AVEVA knowledge or similar MES/SCADA platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills.
- IT/OT network design experience.
- Cisco / Industrial Ethernet experience.
- Industrial control-system cybersecurity knowledge.
- Experience with FP&R and Operational Excellence metrics.
- ERP/MES integration experience.
