LOAN OFFICER ASSISTANT - ENTERPRISE
Provide support to multiple Residential Loan Officers to facilitate the timely review and submission of completed mortgage loan application packages, including supporting documentation required to process loan requests or modification requests. Support the Loan Officer in loan preparation and coordination with the operation teams to obtain/transmit necessary documentation and condition requests. Track and update the Loan Officer on loan and pipeline status.
WHATWILL YOU DO?
- Assists the Loan Officer with new loan applications by entering information into the loan operating system, collecting supporting documentation, pulling property profiles, ordering appraisals in a rush scenario, preparing lock forms and any other administrative responsibilities related to the preparation of a mortgage application.
- Manage and organize all loan‑related documents in a shared drive or other repository.
- Create and maintain reports to track needs by loan and by Loan Officer.
- Submit conditions, monitor expiration dates on credit commitments and locks.
- Prepare modification paperwork for review by the Loan Officer.
- Contact borrowers directly for additional information related to loan requests, including documentation required to meet conditions necessary to complete a successful closing.
- Engage in marketing and sales activities, including distribution of collateral, “farming” and follow‑up on external leads.
- Assist the Loan Officer with prequalification documentation.
- Provide ongoing support for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and administrative duties.
- Answer calls from borrowers, escrow, title, agents etc. regarding status and general questions throughout the loan process.
- Maintain a proactive commitment to established Bank programs, such as Customer First, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Equal Employment Opportunity.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum 2 years of residential loan originations or processing experience in a mortgage banking company.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with state and federal lending regulations (e.g., RESPA, Reg Z, ECOA, State Fair Lending).
- SAFE Act Registration in good standing under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008, and registered/licensed with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (or able to be registered).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment under general supervision.
- Experience interacting with clients and, occasionally, vendors and other outside lending institutions to obtain information and/or request documents.
- Solid knowledge of the job and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
- Basic understanding of general banking operations and federal and state loan documentation regulations (e.g., RESPA, Reg Z, Reg B, ECOA, state fair lending).
This is a commission‑based role and does not have a set salary range.
