Parking Control Officer I - Parking Division
The City of Topeka’s Parking Division is seeking a dedicated individual to join its team as a Parking Control Officer I. This position performs parking enforcement duties in the Topeka central business. Responsibilities include walking or driving a provided city vehicle through assigned enforcement routes in the downtown central business district and assisting with the enforcement, installation and removal of Vehicle Immobilization Devices.
This position works Monday through Friday (8:00am-4:30pm) and is year-round, full-time role that works in all weather conditions.
What you’ll do:
- Collect parking tickets from payment boxes
- Collect coins from parking meters
- Issue parking tickets
- Answer questions from the public
The ideal candidate possesses any combination of the following traits:
- Thrives in a mobile work environment and possesses excellent navigational skills.
- Is a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and city insurable driving record.
- One (1) year of public relations / customer service experience is required.
