The Kaizen will provide care to the elders living in a household. Their primary role is to protect, sustain, and nurture the elders by providing assistance with activities of daily living, and meeting other needs as required. The core goal of the work of the Kaizen will be to provide assistance, which promotes a high quality of life and a positive elderhood.
The responsibilities of the Kaizen include care of the elder and the elders’ environment, including cooking, laundry, and housekeeping. The Kaizen is a member of a team and is responsible for coordinating aspects of the team’s work.
- Report changes in the elder’s condition to a supervisor or nurse
- Responsible for administering medications as scheduled as well as ordering them in a timely manner.
- Assist elder with activities of daily living according to the Negotiated Service Agreement and/or Level of Care.
- Attend department meetings as scheduled or needed, to discuss elders needs and progress in identifying and correcting problems.
- Report accidents and incidents when they occur.
- Assist with and/or perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as outlined by the Service Plan
- Observe standard precautions per Household policy
- Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, anatomical dimension/circumference, etc.
- Report any resident abuse or suspected abuse to the supervisor or nurse immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of elder care, procedure, and documentation
- Clean and maintain the environment of the household
- Serve and clean up after meals and snacks
- Make beds and change bed linens
- Work with security to assure that elders emergency call systems are working at all times
- Communicate with co-workers at all levels to adequately meet the needs of elders
- Assist with psychosocial programming to in sure both physical and cognitive stimulation in a social setting in both on the campus and off.
- Provide opportunities for ongoing social events both on campus and in the community.
- Attend and participate in orientation programs, on-going training and educational classes
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or GED
- Active CNA
- Active CMA
Schedule:
Mondays 10:15pm- 6:15am
