Description:
36 or 48 hour options available.
Unit accepts first-time travelers.
High Risk Labor & Delivery Unit includes Triage, Postpartum, and Level 2 - Special Care Nursery.
Care of the laboring patient with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes for gestations of 34 weeks and greater.
Experience with C-Sections and External Cephalic Versions is necessary.
The role may require floating to like units based on facility needs.
Travelers will receive brief orientation on the unit.
Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults.
Daily patient census varies by facility.
Interdisciplinary support is available within the unit.
Special procedures include the care of the laboring patient in high-risk situations.
Additional duties may involve abnormal fetal heart rate pattern recognition and treatment.
Experience with various medical interventions and technologies in a labor and delivery environment is essential.
The role includes responsibilities in postpartum care and neonate assessment.
This position involves patient education on care, including breastfeeding and circumcision.
