Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our residents. In this role, you will lead the nutritional care of residents—conducting assessments, developing individualized nutrition plans, and ensuring the highest standards of dietary services are delivered. As the facility’s nutrition expert, you will have the autonomy to guide care decisions, oversee dietary practices, and support positive clinical outcomes through evidence-based nutrition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents and develop individualized nutrition care plans
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) in accordance with physician orders, clinical guidelines, and resident needs
  • Monitor residents’ nutritional status and adjust care plans based on changes in condition, labs, weight, and intake
  • Collaborate with nursing, dietary, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
  • Oversee and evaluate the implementation of therapeutic diets, including texture modifications and specialized nutrition plans
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and CMS regulations related to nutrition services and dietary practices
  • Participate in the MDS/RAI process, including completing nutrition-related assessments and contributing to care planning

    Monitor and support quality measures related to nutrition, including weight loss, malnutrition, and hydration status
  • Provide education to residents, families, and staff regarding nutrition, dietary needs, and health management
  • Support the dietary department in menu planning, food service operations, and ensuring meals meet clinical and regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and clinical nutrition advancements
Qualifications
  • Current, active Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Dietitian in the State of Kansas
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited program
  • Completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship or supervised practice program
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or clinical healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets, and medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations, nutrition-related quality measures, and documentation standards preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and nutrition documentation systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate residents, families, and staff
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
