Job DescriptionThe Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) supports Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by assisting in the assessment, screening, and implementation of therapy plans for individuals with communication disorders, under the supervision of a qualified SLP.
Responsibilities- Assisting with Assessments: Assist in administering and scoring screenings, and may help with data collection during assessments.
- Providing Direct Therapy: Provide direct therapy services, following the SLP's guidance and protocols.
- Documenting Performance: Document student performance, including data collection, charting, and reporting information.
- Training and Technical Assistance: Provide training and technical assistance to students as directed by the SLP.
- Programming AAC Devices: Assist in programming augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
- Supporting Service Delivery Models: Assist in providing therapy through various service delivery models.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain student and family confidentiality.
