Overview
IT Data Architect (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Mostly Remote (Candidates within commuting distance to Topeka, KS preferred)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Data Architect to support enterprise data systems and data warehousing initiatives. This role focuses on defining data architecture strategy, improving data governance, and delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions while collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.
This is a long-term opportunity with a clear path to full-time employment.
Responsibilities- Define and drive long-term data architecture strategy for enterprise systems
- Design, build, and maintain data warehouses, data marts, and data stores
- Develop and manage data models for new and existing data platforms
- Identify inefficiencies in current data systems and recommend improvements
- Enforce data governance, data quality, and standards
- Partner with technical teams to define database architecture and coding standards
- Design and implement disaster recovery, redundancy, and data archiving solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve data warehouse and performance issues
- Gather and analyze business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
- 8 years of overall experience in data-related roles
- 5 years of hands-on experience in:
- Data Architecture
- Data Warehousing
- Data Modeling
- Data Mining
- Business Requirements Analysis
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- SQL & SQL Server Management Studio
- Advanced SQL querying
- .NET (C#, ), Java, or other modern programming languages
- Azure Dev Ops
- Visual Studio
- Windows Server OS
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering
, or equivalent professional experience
- US Citizenship required (contract-to-hire role; no sponsorship available)
- Mostly remote
- Business casual attire
