Position Title:
Application Developer

Location Information

Hybrid (Remote/In-Office) – Topeka, KS

Candidates must reside in Kansas or Missouri.

Scheduled

Work Hours:

Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST (Additional hours may be required)

Position Responsibilities:
  • Participate in analysis, coding, and testing of programming changes to resolve application issues and deliver new business functions within complex application environments.
  • Collaborate with developers and business users to translate business requirements into technical designs and detailed test plans.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to define system architecture and interface standards.
  • Ensure seamless integration and compatibility of applications with existing IT systems and operational environments.
  • Design solutions that account for business goals, IT standards, SLAs, and budgetary constraints.
  • Take ownership of defect resolution and manage system performance issues to ensure operational reliability.
  • Uphold compliance with corporate data security policies and regulatory requirements, including NERC, SOX, and 10 CFR 810.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant IT experience with focus in application development and technical support.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of application development, business process analysis, and designing software solutions.
  • Proven experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and data/application security best practices.
  • Strong customer-centric approach aimed at achieving high levels of satisfaction in service delivery.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with the capability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Leadership qualities for driving improvements in application stability and effectiveness.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and related tools (e.g., Service Now, Jira).
  • Familiarity with Source Control best practices and tools (e.g., Git Hub).
  • Experience working with reporting tools and platforms, especially Power BI.
  • Technical proficiency in:
  • Relational databases (minimum 2 years’ experience), especially Oracle PL/SQL, SQL
  • Modern front-end development: REACT, HTML
  • Back-end and cloud: .NET, Azure
  • Process automation and data integration:
    Automic (UC4), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Go Anywhere
  • ERP asset management integration experience (e.g., Maximo) is preferred
  • APIs and web services (API/REST development)
  • Basic knowledge of workstation, network, and operating system administration (Windows 11, MS Office Suite)
  • Demonstrated expertise in issue resolution, documentation, and ensuring compliance with information security frameworks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 2-4 years of directly related IT or application development experience required.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule and attend on-site meetings as required in Topeka, KS; must reside in Kansas or Missouri.
