As a Network Control Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USPS. You will play a crucial role in technical support functions at USPS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance and training to end-users.
  • Handle complex hardware and software support responsibilities, including troubleshooting, application support, hardware installation, hardware/software integration, evaluation of vendor software packages, interface with external hardware/software vendors, and customer service.
  • Primary Technical Support for end users, including off-hours support.
  • Install, modify, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot personal computer hardware and software.
  • Install, configure, and maintain peripheral equipment (e.g., printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, IP phones).
  • Perform physical maintenance of networking equipment (Wireless Access Points, Cisco switches, Ethernet cabling), including replacing failed access points and network switches.
  • Diagnose hardware, software, and end‑user problems and take remedial actions.
  • Assist with the implementation of procedural changes.
  • Install, modify, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot application‑related software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Oracle Products, developer tools (Git, UFT, SQL Developer), virus protection, and general office automation.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT.
  • Must be a Network Control Specialist with relevant experience.
Education
  • + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred.
  • Alternative Path:
    If the candidate does not possess a relevant four-year degree, an additional four years of relevant work experience will be required.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience.
Security Clearance Level
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Benefits

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $50,150.00 – $67,850.00. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
