The Information Security Solutions Architect designs and implements scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions for BCBSKS. This role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors to translate complex requirements into actionable architectural designs, ensuring successful delivery of solutions across various platforms. The architect leads design processes, aligns with industry security best practices, and contributes to continuous improvement of the technical landscape.
Whatyou’ll do
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and design secure end-to-end solutions.
- Lead the development of architectural frameworks and principles that ensure scalability, security, and performance in complex environments.
- Provide deep technical security knowledge across infrastructure architecture (cloud and on-prem), software development, networking, data management, and integration.
- Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and technical teams to translate business needs into actionable technology solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including developers, operations, and security experts—to implement solutions while reducing security risks.
- Design cost‑effective solutions, evaluate trade‑offs, and recommend alternative approaches to maximize resource utilization and minimize unnecessary expenditures.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for architectural designs, decisions, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the company’s architecture and solution delivery.
- Interface with external clients and third‑party vendors to ensure solutions align with client expectations and vendor capabilities.
- Oversee infrastructure implementations and integrations (on‑prem, cloud, PaaS, etc.) with guidance to ensure minimal disruption and seamless transition.
- At least 2 years of information/cyber security experience.
- Proficient knowledge of security best practices across identity, networking, endpoints, cloud, data, and/or development.
- Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, PKI, antivirus, firewalls, and EDR.
- Knowledge of identity security technologies such as Okta, Entra , Active Directory Federation Services, Single Sign-On, LDAP, and related protocols.
- Familiarity with compliance security frameworks (NIST CSF, HITRUST CSF) and threat‑modelling processes.
- Experience with infrastructure technologies: networking, servers, storage, virtualization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud), preferred Azure with services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Key Vault, Dev Ops, Pipelines, APIM, and Data Factory.
- Programming skills in Java, Python, C#, or similar.
- Knowledge of API security and containerization is a plus.
- Experience with SQL and No
SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus. - Understanding of Dev Sec Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred. If a degree is not held, an additional 4 years of progressive, relevant experience within the field is required. Minimum 6 years of experience in IT, application development, or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or senior level role.
Compensation$125,600 – $157,000. The compensation range is a good‑faith estimate based on the successful candidate’s skills, education, experience, and training. All offers are reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay.
