Service Desk Analyst 1— Hybrid | Topeka, KS
Be the first friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for IT support—helping internal employees, contractors, and interns get back to work quickly when technology issues arise. As a Service Desk Analyst I, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests across hardware, software, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, identity/access, and connectivity in a Service Now-driven environment. This role is ideal for a customer-focused support professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting, communicates clearly with both technical and non‑technical users, and takes pride in delivering reliable, secure support.
Required Skills:- 2+ years supporting end users in a Service Desk/Help Desk/Desktop Support (or similar) environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills across:
- Windows 10/11 workstations and laptops
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, One Drive, SharePoint)
- VPN/connectivity and basic network troubleshooting
- End‑user hardware and peripherals (laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, webcams, etc.)
- Ability to document, track, and manage work in Service Now (Incidents/Requests/Knowledge) while meeting service level expectations
- Excellent customer service skills: active listening, clear communication, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests, work independently, and navigate multiple applications at once
- Working knowledge of security best practices, user verification, and data protection standards
Skills:
- Experience with:
- Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), account management, access provisioning, and MFA enrollment
- Microsoft Intune or other endpoint/mobile device management (MDM) tools
- Citrix virtual desktop/application environments
- Corporate‑issued iOS/Android device enrollment, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support
- Remote support tools and knowledge‑centered support practices
Education and Experience:
- Experience supporting enterprise technologies in a large corporate environment or utility organization (preferred)
- Industry certifications (preferred):
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certifications, and/or ITIL Foundation
- Work schedule:
Eight‑hour shifts covering core hours Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, including a mandatory one‑hour lunch and two 15‑minute breaks - Participation in a rotating after‑hours on‑call schedule
- Hybrid work:
Onsite for initial equipment setup and training; after training period, minimum 1 day/week onsite - Must reside within a 60‑minute commute of the Topeka General Office (Topeka, KS)
- In‑person interviews required
- Must have reliable internet service and phone access for remote work
- Parking near the Topeka General Office is limited to nearby garages with a daily rate; parking is the employee’s responsibility
