The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Deputy. These open positions are staffing increases due to our growing community. Our Office is looking for a proactive and dedicated individual to join our family. Our Office strives for excellence in serving the citizens of Harvey County.
Harvey County is located in the Wichita Metropolitan Area which brings different challenges and opportunities for experience. Harvey County also encompasses rural law enforcement challenges, which makes for a good blend of law enforcement experience.

Criminal Interdiction Unit
Field Training Programs

Investigations Division
Responsibilities:
Provides law enforcement and public safety services to all of Harvey County. Enforcement of criminal statutes, traffic statutes, accident investigations and other non-criminal public safety services.
Requirements:
Must be a United States citizen. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be 21 years of age upon date of hire. Must not have committed or been convicted of, had a conviction expunged for or been placed on diversion by any state or federal agency for a felony or domestic violence crime. Must possess a valid driver’s license prior to beginning employment.
Must reside within 30 minutes of the Harvey County line. Must have or be able to obtain certification as a law enforcement officer issued through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC).

Work Schedule:
Patrol schedule includes rotating 12 hour shifts, weekends, holidays and assigned overtime shifts. Patrol shifts are supervised by a Patrol Sergeant on each shift.
Salary Range: ($26.49/hour - $35.62/hour), with lateral pay considerations for certified applicants.
