Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to an Environmental Services Technicians to our Facilities team at our Topeka campus. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in an office building. The position involves performing general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and restocking supplies in restrooms and common areas.

The position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned to a high standard and helps support a safe, professional, and welcoming workplace for employees, customers, and visitors.

The position is Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

** Compensation**### **$16.96 - $21.20
**** Non-exempt Grade 9

** What you’ll do
*** Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface disinfection throughout the office building
* Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, and ensure all areas are tidy and well-maintained
* Empty and sanitize trash and recycling containers; transport waste to designated disposal areas
* Clean windows, glass surfaces, and entryways as assigned
* Maintain cleanliness in shared spaces such as lobbies, elevators, kitchens, and conference rooms
* Monitor and replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed
* Operate basic cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers, etc.) safely and efficiently
* Follow health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures
** What you need
*** Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
* Good communication skills and a customer service mindset
* Basic knowledge of proper use of cleaning supplies and operation of equipment
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
** Physical requirements
*** Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
* Exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and other potentially hazardous materials
** Bonus if you have
*** GED or vocational training in commercial housekeeping preferred.
* One year previous work-related experience preferred.
