Includes Title and Duties as Executive Director of Leadership Kansas, Kansas Manufacturing Council, Kansas Retail Council, and Kansas Military & Veterans Affairs Council.

President and CEO
Will administer the scheduling and communications for the Education Foundation Board of Directors, the LK Board of Advisors, and the manufacturing, retail, and military councils.
For Leadership Kansas:- Provides executive oversight of the Kansas Chamber Education Foundation, including compliance, reporting, budgeting, financial management, and strategic direction.
- Leads all aspects of Leadership Kansas, including oversight of recruitment, nomination, application, and selection processes, alumni engagement, sponsor relations, and statewide visibility.
- Ensures that Foundation Programs are impactful, relevant, and financially sustainable.
- Traveling is required for 3-5 days per month with occasional overnight stays.
- Provides strategic guidance and planning oversight to Statewide and Local Session Chairs and Alumni on program details.
- Responsible for on-site session management, volunteer management, logistics and all related activities, including contracts, transportation, lodging coordination, printed materials, merchandise management, safety protocols, and run of show development.
- Serves as primary staff liaison to the Kansas Chamber Education Foundation Board and the Leadership Kansas Board of Advisors, including preparation of agendas, reports, and financial updates.
- Responsible for day-to-day administrative management of Leadership Kansas operations.
- Coordinates with the Chamber events and communications team on all related publications and communications, including monthly newsletters, fundraising solicitations, website content, recognition materials, and media releases.
- Contributes written content for newsletters and communications, plus photography of events for internal use on website and other communications.
- Manages Advisory Board for each council, including planning and execution of 3 meetings annually per council.
- Serves as primary liaison for National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and National Retail Federation (NRF) in Kansas.
- Represents the councils at industry-related functions and events across the state & country as needed.
- Promotes and attends any Chamber-hosted manufacturing events in coordination with the events team and works to create and implement an in-person day for Retail Council when applicable.
- Excellent knowledge of issues affecting Kansas and the business community; strong understanding of the Leadership Kansas program.
- Education typically a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Political Science or related field, plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in successful sales, marketing, or foundation roles serving business owners or executives.
- Proven experience developing and managing program budgets and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-day programs or events with detailed logistical coordination.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to operational detail.
- Experience working with nonprofit boards and preparing governance materials.
- Experience in fundraising, sponsorship development, or revenue growth preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to provide long‑term strategy and ensure operational execution.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage volunteers, community leaders, and cross‑functional teams effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing and public‑speaking skills.
- Foundational knowledge of the State Chamber and its programs and operations.
