The President / Director of Airports (“President”) is the chief operating officer of MTAA and is responsible for day‑to‑day operations, overall management, and administrative functions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintain, operate, lease, develop, improve, acquire, and replace the real property, personal property, and airport facilities of MTAA in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, airport sponsor assurances, the Airport Improvement Program, contractual obligations, and Board policies.
• Maintain and oversee programs that comply with FAA directives and advisory circulars, grant programs, and federal regulations such as 14 CFR Part 139 Certification of Airports;
  Part 77 Objects Affecting Navigable Airspace;
  Part 150 Airport Noise Compatibility;
  Part 152 Airport Aid Program; and 49 CFR Part 1542 Airport Security.
• Ensure compliance with law‑enforcement and fire‑department requirements.
• Work with the engineering and development team on airport improvement projects and oversee the budget and all financial transactions for the public airports operated by MTAA.
• Advise the Board on strategic goals and objectives.
• Manage and supervise all MTAA personnel, delegating day‑to‑day supervision to department heads as permitted by personnel policies.
• Implement Board policies and directives.
• Provide reports to the Board on a schedule established by the Board.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Board.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required; MBA or higher preferred.
• Eight to ten years of related experience in a similar role, or equivalent training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
• Intermediate computer and word‑processing skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of business and management principles for strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and coordination of people and resources.
• Knowledge of airport construction practices for horizontal and vertical construction.
• Knowledge of employment practices and related laws, regulations and standards.
• Ability to provide strategic direction, leadership and vision to MTAA staff.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to organize, multi‑task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and stability during stressful situations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across MTAA.
• Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Physical Demands: regular speaking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and using hands; reading computer screens for extended periods; lifting up to 25 lbs; travel as needed; valid driver’s license required.
