What you'll do...

As an Assistant General Manager (AGM) in a Walmart Distribution Center, you'll play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring the safe, efficient movement of merchandise that supports our stores and customers. You will lead large teams, execute strategic business plans, and champion a culture focused on safety, quality, productivity, and associate engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Operations & Deliver Results

* Execute and continuously improve operational plans to achieve facility goals related to productivity, quality, safety, service, and cost.

* Drive performance across multiple functional areas while ensuring operational standards are consistently met.

* Analyze business metrics, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.

* Balance short- and long-term business priorities while making data-driven decisions.

Build and Develop High-Performing Teams

* Lead, coach, and develop salaried and hourly associates to achieve individual and team success.

* Communicate clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and hold associates accountable for performance goals.

* Identify talent, support career growth, and create development opportunities that strengthen leadership pipelines.

* Partner in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, promotion, performance management, and succession planning activities.

Drive Workforce Planning

* Forecast staffing needs and align labor resources with business demands.

* Monitor workload, productivity, and performance trends to ensure optimal staffing and operational execution.

* Implement strategies that improve associate engagement, retention, and overall workforce effectiveness.

Manage Financial Performance

* Support financial stewardship by monitoring expenses, labor costs, and asset utilization.

* Review operational and financial reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

* Ensure responsible management of resources while delivering targeted business results.

Champion Safety, Compliance & Quality

* Promote a culture where safety is the top priority for associates, customers, and suppliers.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, logistics standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.

* Investigate operational issues and drive corrective actions to maintain high standards of execution and accountability.

* Lead initiatives that improve workplace safety, operational consistency, and continuous improvement.

Build Strong Partnerships

* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and business partners to resolve challenges and drive results.

* Address associate, customer, and supplier concerns with urgency, professionalism, and sound judgment.
