This position is responsible for the leadership of continuous improvement within the manufacturing plant. This includes the rollout and execution of lean manufacturing related activities, processes, and plans. The position will serve as a change agent and facilitator of lean processes with plant teams. It identifies and directs activities to attain goals consistent with process improvements, which encompass the site’s key performance indicators.
Responsibilities- Lead and drive the successful implementation of lean concepts; proactively manage change to support continuous improvement.
- Learn and develop key skills to implement Lean Sigma and other continuous improvement disciplines; foster ownership and shared results from improvements.
- Lead, coordinate, and drive activities such as Kaizen events and training in continuous improvement processes; monitor and communicate trends in skill improvements.
- Develop and utilize tools to maximize lean effectiveness and sustain them over time (e.g., SPC, lean manufacturing, Huddles, and related tools).
- Develop expert skills as a Lean or continuous improvement leader; mentor and support development of CI resources within the plant; monitor skill-trend improvements.
- Identify and share best practices across the plant and organization.
- Provide a professional work environment with internal and external customers; manage relationships across the organization and supply chain.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 2-5 years of manufacturing experience required; food industry experience preferred.
- Associates Degree preferred;
High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Proficient with computers and standard programs (Word, Excel, email).
- Ability to analyze reports and take appropriate actions based on information.
- Proficient at writing reports to communicate with leaders and meet requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing or related field with continuous improvement experience and knowledge of product quality and waste reduction; understanding of product integrity required.
- Ability to influence floor and staff associates; strong analytical and data-communication skills across all levels.
- Refrigerated food manufacturing plant environment.
- Environment may be wet or dry; temperatures range from 25°F to 110°F.
- Lifting, kneeling, and bending with packages up to 50 lbs.
This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
