Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Digital Marketing Specialist (Entry Level)

You're the one who catches the typo in the group project, the wrong date on the flyer, the caption that doesn't quite sound right. That instinct—the one that won't let you hit "publish" until everything is correct—is exactly why this role is perfect for you.

Magellan Financial & Insurance in Topeka, Kansas, is hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist to review, edit, and quality-check social media and digital advertising content before it is released to the public.

  • Compensation: $45,000–$60,000 base salary plus bonus potential.
  • Benefits: Full, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and GAP insurance with employee premiums heavily subsidized by the company.
  • 401(k): with 100% dollar-for-dollar match on your first 6%.
  • PTO: starts at 3 weeks and grows to 5 weeks with tenure; 10 paid company holidays.
The Opportunity

Magellan is a top-five national insurance marketing organization serving 400+ independent financial advisory firms nationwide and operating state-of-the-art video and radio production studios. The marketing team produces a high volume of digital content daily—social posts, digital ads, and advisor-facing materials—and every piece needs a final set of eyes before it goes live.

That is your role. You review content for accuracy, verify names and titles, confirm that claims are properly supported, and ensure everything aligns with brand standards. You then prepare and submit content for compliance review, track approvals and revisions, and maintain organized records of approved content. You will also provide clear, constructive feedback to the team members who create and schedule content, helping the entire workflow run more smoothly over time.

You will learn how marketing operates in a regulated financial services environment—a skillset that is transferable, in demand, and difficult to acquire anywhere else.

Why Magellan

Magellan s philosophy is "More. Better. Different."—continuous improvement in everything the company does. You will work alongside experienced marketing professionals who invest in production quality and compliance infrastructure. The tools are modern, the office is brand new, and the benefits package reflects how Magellan values its people. A 100% 401(k) match on 6% is rare at any level, and especially rare for an early-career role.

This is a company that invests in you from day one.

You Are the Right Fit If You

Are naturally detail-oriented and take pride in getting things right. You are organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable giving professional feedback—even to people with more experience than you. You are eager to learn how content quality and compliance work in a regulated industry, and you want to build a career in digital marketing rather than just fill a seat.

A bachelor s degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field is a strong foundation. But what matters most is how you think: carefully, methodically, and with a bias toward accuracy.

Who This Is NOT For

If you want to spend your day creating content from scratch, this is not the role. If checklists and tracking systems feel tedious rather than satisfying, look elsewhere. This role rewards precision and follow-through. And if you already know everything, please don t apply - you won t fit here.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, English, journalism,
    or a related field
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and written communication skills
  • Close attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Comfort reviewing and correcting work created by others
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred, but not required to be a great fit
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing workflows
  • Internship or coursework in content editing, compliance, or marketing operations
  • Interest in financial services, investment, insurance, or other regulated industries
