As a Home Infusion Nurse
, you’ll provide one‑on‑one, skilled clinical care to patients where they feel most comfortable—at home or in an ambulatory infusion suite.

• Work an average of 30-40 hours per week
• Travel within the Lawrence, Topeka to Overland Park area to deliver care in patient homes or designated sites.

• Travel to patient homes and related sites using a personal or rental vehicle in accordance with company travel policies.
• Provide safe and compliant infusion services in accordance with Optum Infusion Pharmacy policies, protocols, and physician orders.
• Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers, including education on self‑care and self‑administration.
• Assess patient suitability for home infusion therapy, including home safety, caregiver support, and patient independence.
• Obtain and maintain accurate patient medical histories, clinical assessments and all required documentation, including plans of care, visit notes, medication profiles and discharge summaries.
• Deliver skilled nursing care across a range of patient ages and conditions based on physician orders and treatment plans.
• Establish, access, and maintain vascular devices, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, tunneled catheters and implanted ports.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including managing infusion reactions, vital signs, side effects and lab collection.
• Communicate patient status and therapy response promptly with physicians, pharmacists, supervisors and other care team members.
• Assist in staff orientation and training, serving as a clinical educator and resource as requested.

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas.
• Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross or willingness to obtain prior to start.
• One or more years of RN experience in a clinical setting supporting infusion or IV therapy (e.g., ICU, Med‑Surg, ED, PACU).
• Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment and effective interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to cover an 80‑mile service radius while working 30-40 hours per week.

• Previous home infusion experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EMR platforms.
• Knowledge of Infusion Nursing Society (INS) standards.
• Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA and home infusion accreditation guidelines.
• Strong communication, organization, critical‑thinking and teaching skills.
