7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

This position requires a 4-day workweek, Monday through Friday, with the day off to be determined. This position will work at Holton Family Medicine.

Job Summary:

Coordinates plan of care with physicians, nurses, and front office for continuity of care for patients. Counsels and educates patients on a variety of health care issues. Must be able to work well with office staff and outside management as well.

  • Assists with primary health care in collaboration with physicians by gathering and recording patient history, vitals, and other pertinent data to coordinate appropriate care.
  • Administers injections, applies splints, dressings, etc., as ordered.
  • Dispenses medication as directed by physicians. Performs various clinical/lab duties and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Screens and prioritise telephone calls for referral to physicians.
  • Assists with clinic performance improvement activities and assists with orientation of new employees.
  • Performs administrative duties such as communications with office staff regarding patient care, scheduling appointments, and referrals. Maintains timely flow of patients.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Participates in professional development activities, attends required meetings, and participates in committees as requested, and contributes input for the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, professional relationships and interpersonal interactions.
  • Maintains and enhances a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure and CPR certification.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Must have a current, valid license issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse). Or a compact license authorized to work in the state of Kansas.
  • Must have current Basic Life support (BLS) certification.
