Oncology Rn

The Oncology RN is responsible for coordinating patient care. Assesses information that is given to them from the patient via phone or in person, communicating information to providers and obtains orders if needed. Provides triaging to patients with symptom management and provides recommendations from the provider. Administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to patients. Oncology assessment and lab assessment to determine if meets criteria for treatment.

Close collaboration with provider for best patient care.

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• 1 year Experience in acute care. Preferred

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medication administration and equipment calibration. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse - KSBN Required
• Basic Life Support - BLS RQI or other certifications may be required in lieu of or in addition to BLS depending on department. Must have within 90 days of hire.
• Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - ONS Must obtain within 90 days or hire and prior to administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)- Magnet - ONCC-Magnet Preferred

• Promote infection prevention through use of standard precautions, proper procedure in dressing changes, wound care, hand hygiene and cleanliness of the patient rooms/department
