Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Providence Living Center in Topeka, KS is looking to hire a full‑time or PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The rehabilitation nursing position offers a competitive salary of $40.75 to $43.00 per hour plus a $6,000 sign‑on bonus. DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

As a Registered Nurse, you provide total care for residents, closely monitoring their condition and needs. You follow physician orders to administer medications and treatments, ensure narcotic policies and procedures are followed, monitor for side effects, and report any changes in residents’ condition. You oversee nursing assistant‑registered (NAR) staff to ensure resident care plans are followed. You complete documentation, admit and discharge residents, and report any bruises, skin tears, or neglect.

You maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements while upholding facility policies. Your warm, friendly demeanor enables excellent customer service and strong relationships with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.

Qualifications
  • RN licensure with the KS Board of Nursing
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations

Experience in medical or surgical settings is preferred but not required. Trustworthiness, respect for others, dependability, professionalism, teamwork, serving and caring for people, and effective communication are essential qualities.

Work Schedule

This position works 12‑hour shifts: 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • Week 1:
    Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.
  • Week 2:
    Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday.
  • 3‑day weekends every other weekend.
  • Never work more than 3 days in a row.
  • 7 days off every 14 days.
  • Average 2 hours of overtime every week.
