Charge Registered Nurse ​/ RN ER

Overview

Join our team as a Night shift, full-time, Emergency Room (ER) Charge Registered Nurse in Topeka, Kansas.

• Responsible for overall shift management and monitoring of the quality of care for the designated area under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Serve as a liaison to keep the Nurse Manager and House Supervisor apprised of major occurrences and unit needs, provide first‑level supervision, make patient assignments each shift, and provide clinical support to nursing personnel (e.g., assuming patient load, assisting with admissions/procedures, etc.) and problem‑identification/solving of patient‑care issues.
• Assist in mentoring new associates and academic partners, and participate in the annual performance review process. Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assess patient/family needs, develop and prioritize patient goals, evaluate care delivery, and continually revise the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• Delegate care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Job Requirements:

• 2‑year degree
• Current Kansas RN licensure
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer
• ACLS certification, unit specific

• 4‑year degree
• Preference given to RNs with experience in a similar healthcare setting
