Locum Tenens Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Topeka, Kansas.   • Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours/week)
  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6

Telemetry RN Qualifications
  • Active Kansas or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Previous travel nurse experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • EPIC charting system experience preferred
  • Ability to float to similar units as needed
  • Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted
Telemetry RN Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy telemetry unit
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to rapid changes in patient status
  • Administer medications, manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), and perform blood product administration
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
  • Care for patients post-cardiac procedures, surgery, and mixed medical diagnoses
  • Perform central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, and wound care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response
  • Float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements
  • Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
