DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring cardiac care skills and management of ventilated patients on multiple drip titrations.
Details- ICU night shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
- Cardiac patient population within a Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Must be able to manage two ventilated patients while multitasking multiple drip titrations
- Every other weekend required
- Epic charting system preferred
- Floating to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
- Active KS or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CPI and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year of current dedicated ICU experience within the past 2-3 years
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Proficient in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
- Experience with cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip management required
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management
- Continuous IV sedation experience required; procedural sedation monitoring preferred
- Cardiovascular experience with CABG, Impella, IABP, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement preferred
- Experience with post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cath intervention, and sheath removal preferred
- Experience with Swan Ganz and Flo Trac/Vigileo monitoring preferred
- Familiarity with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols preferred
- Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiac and post-surgical ICU patients, including management of complex drip titrations and ventilator support
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted
- Former staff must be separated from permanent employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
