Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a new department focused on rapid patient admissions. This position is available for a limited contract duration and involves working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
This position is for a 26-week term with a firm start date, either October 5 or October 12.
Schedule:
36 hours per week
Hours:
7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Holiday Requirement:
May be required to work on holidays as needed
Floating:
May be required to float to other units
Initiate admission orders for incoming patients
Complete the admission navigator process
Document the initial admission assessment thoroughly
Active Kansas state license or multistate license required
BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA required
Experience managing cardiac and anticoagulant drips, such as Cardizem and Heparin
The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Demonstrated adaptability and efficiency in a dynamic, high-volume environment
Strong time management and clinical judgment skills
Flexibility to support rapid patient progression through the admission process
This role is situated in a Level II Trauma Center located in Topeka, Kansas, which has been recognized for excellence in patient care. Candidates should be comfortable managing a variety of patient diagnoses in an acute care setting that requires quick and effective decision-making.
