Clinical Services EducatorMidland Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Education team as a Clinical Educator – Infection Prevention & Safety
.
This position is a great opportunity for an RN who enjoys teaching, developing others, and using their clinical knowledge beyond traditional bedside care. Our Clinical Educators support employees across multiple service lines, including hospice, home health, PACE, and other Midland Care programs.
In this role, you will help welcome and prepare new employees, develop and deliver clinical education, validate competencies and hands-on skills, teach BLS, and support ongoing employee education and compliance. You will also serve as a key resource for infection prevention, occupational health, and employee safety processes across the organization.
We are looking for an experienced RN who is a strong communicator, enjoys teaching and mentoring others, is highly organized, and has an interest or experience in areas such as clinical education, infection prevention, occupational health, staff development, or employee safety.
Responsibilities- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, including required education, competency validation, and clinical onboarding activities
- Conduct new hire health screening activities as part of the onboarding process, including TB screening/testing, N95 respirator fit testing, and required documentation and follow-up
- Develop and teach educational sessions for new hire orientation, ongoing employee education, and organization-wide training needs
- Teach BLS courses and conduct hands-on skills check-offs to support employees in obtaining and maintaining required BLS certification
- Provide clinical competency assessment, skills validation, and education to employees across multiple service lines
- Coordinate organization-wide occupational health and infection prevention processes assigned to the Education Department
- Serve as a resource to employees and leaders regarding infection prevention practices, occupational health requirements, and related organizational procedures
- Serve as a primary resource regarding employee TB screening requirements, follow-up, and exceptions
- Support respiratory protection processes, including N95 fit testing and standardized workflows across organizational locations
- Coordinate follow-up for employee blood borne pathogen, needle stick, and other occupational exposure events
- Coordinate the annual employee influenza vaccination program and related documentation
- Monitor current CDC, OSHA, and other applicable guidance related to infection prevention, occupational health, and employee safety
- Communicate relevant regulatory and practice changes and assist with developing education and implementing updated processes
- Participate in organizational safety activities, including the Safety Committee and annual risk assessment process
Required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Multistate/Compact nursing license or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
- Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication, teaching, and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively educate, coach, precept, and support employees with varying levels of experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects at once
- Ability to travel to other Midland Care locations, with travel expected based on organizational and Education Department needs
