Registered Nurse/Surgical Stepdown
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Stepdown unit. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients recovering from post-operative procedures, particularly in the areas of urology and bariatric surgery.
The Surgical Stepdown unit comprises 28 beds and focuses on post-operative care for patients undergoing various surgical interventions. This includes bariatric reduction, urologic/nephrology surgeries, and other surgical conditions such as cellulitis, abscesses, and GI diseases.
Deliver high-quality patient care in a collaborative team environment.
Monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
Communicate effectively with healthcare teams and patients' families.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.
Minimum of 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience.
Current AHA BLS certification required at the time of submission.
Active Kansas or Multistate nursing license.
Educational qualifications include an ADN or BSN degree.
No previous hits on licensure; first-time travelers are not accepted.
12-hour shifts with 36 hours guaranteed per week.
Weekend rotation required, with every other weekend off.
Holiday RTO policy allows one holiday off.
All required certifications and documentation, including immunization records for Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TDaP vaccine, and TB status, must be provided at the time of submission.
This position is located in Topeka, Kansas.
