Surgical Stepdown Nurse (Post-Surgical: Abdominal/Colorectal) – Topeka, KS

- License/Certs: KS or Multi-State RN License, BLS (AHA)
- Experience: Minimum 1-year progressive care or step-down experience
- Hourly Pay: $60.30/hr

- Provide advanced nursing care to post-surgical patients in a 32-bed unit specializing in colorectal, abdominal, urological, orthopedic, and plastic surgeries
- Monitor patient recovery and manage surgical drains and wound care
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate charting and patient records using Epic EMR
- Assist with patient assessments, medication administration, and post-operative instructions
- Float to other surgical or medical units as needed according to staffing requirements
- Valid Kansas or Multistate RN license (no hits allowed)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- At least 1 year of progressive care or surgical stepdown experience
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to unit needs
