Licensed Practical Nurse

## Description The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional practical nursing services and direct resident care. Works collaboratively with all members of the Sunshine Meadows care team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and provides compassionate person-centered care to residents consistent with role scope, current regulatory standards, and practice expectations. Licensed Practical Nurse General Duties Demonstrates performance of tasks necessary to maintain safe and effective resident care.

Provides direct resident care and assistance as needed and as assigned to support patients with ADLS to include dressing, bathing, eating, feeding, and other tasks as needed to ensure quality care and management of our residents. Leads and/or assists with program related activities and groups that reinforce daily goals, learned skills, and cognitive stimulation appropriate in line with role scope and training.

Performs rounds and safety checks and always maintains responsibility to remove and promptly report any safety issue immediately to registered nurse during their shift  Performs and documents vital signs on residents as assigned

Demonstrates appropriate use of care equipment necessary to perform role tasks    Follows unit safety practices and procedures at all times to include continuous hand hygiene, appropriate use of PPE, appropriate use of  assistive devices and falls prevention protocols. Additional skills and requirements-    Demonstrates good communication skills, time management skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and utilizes critical thinking## Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education  
· Graduate of Accredited Practical Nurse Program   
· Licensed to Practice Nursing in The State of Kansas
