Provide specialized nursing care to hematology and oncology patients Administer chemotherapy and manage advanced medications Monitor patient progress and respond to clinical changes Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes Educate patients and families on treatment plans and symptom management Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures Document care accurately using Epic or other electronic charting systems What You Need:
Valid Kansas or multistate RN license (no hits allowed) BLS certification (AHA required) Chemotherapy certification (preferred) Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience Strong clinical skills in oncology/hematology preferred Ability to work flexible schedule with reliable availability About the Assignment:
This 21-bed unit specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological and oncological conditions, including inpatient chemotherapy, symptom management, palliative care, and hospice/end-of-life care. The unit maintains a 1:6 staffing ratio (or 1:4 during active chemo infusions) and requires float to other medical-surgical inpatient floors. The facility emphasizes a high reliability organizational culture committed to safety, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement.
