Position Overview
The Fehr Lab at the University of Kansas seeks a highly-motivated post‑doctoral researcher to conduct research on host‑pathogen interactions of coronaviruses. The project will involve several molecular and genetic techniques, including molecular cloning, cell culture, animal work, virological assays, gene knockdown/knockout, gene expression analysis, and protein–protein interactions/proteomics. The post‑doc will also receive training to work in our BSL‑3 facility for work with SARS‑CoV‑2 and MERS‑CoV.
Lengthof Appointment
Initial appointment is for two years, with the second year contingent on progress. Appointment may be continued thereafter depending on funding.
Responsibilities- Conduct research, analyze data, present data at conferences, generate manuscripts for publication, and contribute to grant proposals.
- Mentor graduate student and undergraduate students in the lab on techniques and experimental approaches.
- Contribute to general lab duties, lab meetings, and department seminars and other events.
- PhD in a related field at the time of appointment, not to exceed six months from date of hire.
- Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and host‑pathogen interactions.
Advertised Salary Range: $62,232 – $62,652.
