Position: Consultant for National Climate Impact Analysis on Reproductive Health

Background

UNFPA links population dynamics with climate change to design people‑centered solutions and enable communities to adapt by placing women and girls at the center of these efforts.

Job Purpose

Conduct a National Climate Impact Analysis on Reproductive Health in Turkiye, examining the direct effects of climate change on key reproductive health indicators and providing evidence‑based policy recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a quantitative study using secondary data from TURKSTAT and the Ministry of Health.
  • Analyze relationships between adverse climate events and reproductive health indicators (fertility, stillbirth, preterm birth, abortion, infertility).
  • Propose additional environmental and socioeconomic variables to strengthen the analysis.
  • Prepare an inception report, preliminary report, and final report with policy recommendations.
  • Maintain a daily log and submit deliverables on schedule.
Deliverables
  • Inception report – 27 July 2026 (12 % completion).
  • Preliminary report – 7 September 2026 (60 % completion).
  • Final report – 22 September 2026 (28 % completion).
Qualifications and Experience Education
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Demography, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Social Policy, Environmental Science or a related field.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum five years of academic or research experience in public health, demography, social policy, economics, or environmental policy.
  • Strong publication record and experience in quantitative health‑policy analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience delivering similar assignments is an asset.
  • Experience working with the UN is an asset.
  • Excellent writing, research, consultation and engagement skills.
Languages
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish.
